Wanderlust: Hello again, Detroit

After 10 bazillion hours in the plane, we finaly landed in Detroit.  I practiced my least favorite virtue (patience) while waiting in line at immigrations and customs.  I missed my connecting flight to Newark, so I took the next flight out (which will depart in 2 hours).  So I walked around and looked for a place to satisfy my craving for salty food.

I first had my taste of Popeye's chicken at Robinson's Galleria and enjoyed its lip-smacking cajun goodness.  You coud imagine my disappointment when it closed down after a year.  I think there are still branches open in Manila,  am not sure though.  That's why whenever I find Popeye's chicken (there's one in St. Joseph, Michigan and one in Concourse A of Detroit International Airport),  I make sure to grab a bite.

6-pc chicken nuggets value meal (approximately 7 USD)

Definitely more than 6 pieces

Mashed potato with Cajun gravy (yum!)

Sweet and salty Popeye's biscuit

My favorite: Dunking nuggets in the mashed potato (heaven!)

I promised to lose weight while I am in the US, but my appetite is making it extremely difficult.  Bukas, diet na talaga ako.  Promise (riiiiiiight).
