The Bet

It was a 6-hour drive from Chicopee, Massachusetts to Niagara Falls, New York.   Over lunch at Rico's Ristorante, Paulo challenged me to a bet.  Kung sino ang hindi makaubos ng food, magiging slave for a day.  Naisip ko, Italian restaurant ito (1. I love Italian food), all lunch specials had salad and pasta on the side (2. He hates pasta na hindi lasang Jollibee fiesta spaghetti), and 3. I love Italian food (kailangan ulitin).  I won't tell who won.  Kayo na bahala humusga.

Side salad - He had it with thousand island, mine was ranch.

It was a hooot day.

Papa P (?)

Wind effect

I love taking photos of walking people.

After several failed attempts, this was the best one we got.

This store outside Quincy Market had the most unusual stuff.

Diet toothpaste.  Brush 3x a day.

Who needs instant lobotomy?

Jeje-gherlz.

Where's Paulo?

Wi-fi break.

You know it's love when it's ok to look stupid together in public.

At the Quincy Market surrounded by temptation

Touched Mr. Harvard's foot for luck

J.P. Licks - Read Before Judging

This intriguing establishment made me scream for ice cream.

My cookie dough with the Harvard University as backdrop

Do not disturb

Only cool kids eat ice cream.  Spot Kuya in the bakground chilling.

I finished this one on my own. Thank you.

Chinese at Cambridge

In this side of the world, yummy Chinese food is so hard to find.  That's why we skipped breakfast and Paulo brought me to this hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant across Harvard.  I forgot I was not in Asia anymore.

Egg noodle soup

Kung Pao Chicken and a veggie egg roll

Ignore everything else on the plate - just focus on the crab rangoon. It is heaven.

Timely piece of advice from my fortune cookie.

Witch Trials at Salem, Massachusetts

It's horrifying how simple gossip can turn into massacre.

While in Massachusetts, we only planned to go to Cambridge (where Harvard University is) and Boston (food trip + sightseeing).  But when we realized that we were a few minutes away from Salem, renowned for the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, we decided to check it out also.

The mandatory passenger seat photo

In a sea of witch paraphernalia

The Salem Witch Museum offered an informative account of the trials.

An eye-opener

This photo was taken at the middle of the street

Enchanting.

Kilwin's - Glad I Skipped That Cupcake

It was love at first sight when I walked into Kilwin's at downtown St. Joseph, Michigan and I can still remember the lingering goodness of my Pistachio Nut.  A few yards from cupcake heaven, Kilwin's and I rekindled our flame.  This time, with a gigantic scoop of Newport mud.

Parang Chowking, daming choices!

Tubs of original recipe ice cream

Rows upon rows of sugary madness

Not for the faint of heart.

My Newport Mud in Newport, Rhode Island

Cupcake Charlie's is Love

His: peanut butter on chocolate. Mine: vanilla on chocolate.  We didn't get to eat the yummy cupcakes for dessert.  I had mine for breakfast the next day.

Cupcake Charlie's is located somewhere along downtown Newport and it has been featured in Food Network's Cupcake Wars.

Us.

Across the street.

My taste buds just went into cupcake frenzy.

Vanilla

That box protected the cupcakes from being drenched in acid rain. Whew.
