0) I did not bring my camera because I did not intend to drive all the way to MOA. Commute = no heavy camera.
1) I got reunited with the MRT today, literally travelling from the north to the south of Manila. From North Avenue station, we got off at Taft Avenue station and then walked under the sweltering heat to get a cab at the opposite side of the road. I noticed then that the pedestrian overpass system at that intersection was not given much thought by the people who run Metro Manila. It was yet another proof of how poorly the government uses my hard-earned cash.
2) We did not get a cab. Instead, we opted to ride a jeepney to get to the Mall of Asia. Why? Because the sun was beating down on the pavement and on my scalp. At the stoplight, a man soliciting funds for some cause climbed up the jeepney and then gave a well-rehearsed speech. I really wanted to donate some money, but decided against it since my hand-eye coordination is worst in public places.
3) From MOA, we needed to go to Seaside. I was not planning on perspiring to death so I insisted that we take a cab even if our final destination would only be a few cartwheels away from the mall grounds.
3) We were in MOA to sample this recommended (by very reliable foodies) buffet called Vikings. We were promised good food and most importantly, value for money. We originally planned to have lunch there, but since not all of us could make it on time, we decided to have dinner there instead. Oh, and on weekends, lunch and dinner service is more expensive.
4) To pass the time, we walked back to MOA to have a light lunch (at A Venetto -- I missed this and Paulo), look for Pinoy-pride pasalubong and then go bowling after. Had so much fun bowling, but I was not happy with my scores.
5) We were waitlisted for dinner already (we missed our chance for walk-in reservation) and the staff at Vikings were not the most polite people when it comes to dealing with waitlisted customers. For the price, the food was not that awesome (there was really no "Oooh-*eyes-rolled-up-to-the-back-of-my-head*" moment), but there's no denying how filling the food was. A notable feature of this buffet was that we did not have to wait for food items to be refilled. Hindi sila nauubusan ng tempura sauce. My favorite part (and possibly the best advantage this buffet has over the others in its class) is the overflowing supply of drinks (and yogurt). I have to confess that I did not take much advantage of this because of my new love affair with good-old, classic H2O.
I spent the day laughing with good friends and consuming thousands of calories.
So, how's your Sabadon't?
